Joe Rossi, a long-time Human Resource professional in Southern Oregon, is the Southern Oregon Area Manager for Barrett Business Services, Inc. (BBSI).
Joe possesses a unique combination of work experience that enables him to effectively examine how business strategic objectives align with workforce management tactical measures to create business profitability and stability through proactive employee engagement and customer support. Joe has held previous Human Resource, Marketing, and Business Management positions within several industry sectors, including Air Transportation, Retail Automotive, Aerospace, Semiconductors, and Health Care. He holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Administration from the University of Southern California, Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification, and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certificate from the HR Certification Institute in Washington D.C.
Joe oversees two BBSI Southern Oregon branches located in Medford and Grants Pass focusing on providing workforce management solutions: worker compensation coverage and risk/safety management, payroll administration, recruiting and temporary staffing services, and human resource consulting.
As the Business Partner for BBSI-Southern Oregon, Stephanie Hoffman leads the team that provides payroll services, human resources consultation, and risk management consultation. She works closely with her customers to ensure their relationships with BBSI are true partnerships where the customers know they can rely on BBSI’s expertise in helping their businesses thrive. Stephanie also conducts strategic planning sessions (Deep Dives) with business owners to help them remain competitive and increase market share and profitability.
Stephanie has over 20 years of training and consulting experience with Southern Oregon and Northern California businesses in industries such as retail, health, utilities, recreation, education, hi-tech, finance, and communications. Throughout her career, Stephanie has helped entrepreneurs expand their businesses, develop and implement business plans, secure funding, and create strategic marketing plans. She holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Jose State University.
Dan Sweeney has a degree in Business Management & Communications from Concordia University and completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked in Safety and Human Resources for Kinzua Corporation, Boise Cascade Corporation, and Stimson Lumber Company. In his 20 year tenure at Stimson Lumber, he was Vice President of HR and Risk Management; receiving numerous awards as he led a number of high risk manufacturing operations to record number of years without lost time injuries. Dan’s management experience includes serving as a trustee on two Defined Pension Benefit Plans and a Health & Welfare Plan with assets in excess of a billion dollars. Dan has taught college level safety classes and has had multiple certifications and extensive experience in training. He is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals.
Dan’s compassion for people drives his passion for safety. He works diligently to help our customers send every employee home safely each day.
Steve Dobbs – Risk Consultant
Steve Dobbs has a diverse background holding positions in multiple industries. Over the years, he worked in the trades as a machinist, welder, millwright and carpenter, which provided Steve with a solid footing in safety. Steve transitioned into the safety profession and became a safety officer for a large county where he honed his safety skill. Steve also worked in the healthcare field as a hospital safety officer and ultimately as an assistant hospital administrator. Prior to joining BBSI, Steve was a senior safety enforcement officer for Oregon OSHA. He likes demystifying safety regulation for employees and owners and sharing his passion for safety.
Suz Montemayor – Human Resource Manager
Suz Montemayor, a long-time Human Resource professional in Southern Oregon, is the Southern Oregon Area Human Resource Manager for Barrett Business Services, Inc. (BBSI).
Suz oversees two BBSI Southern Oregon branches located in Medford and Grants Pass focusing on providing workforce management solutions: recruiting and temporary staffing services, and human resource consulting.
Suz possesses a unique combination of work experience that enables her to effectively examine how business strategic objectives align with workforce management tactical measures to create business profitability and stability through proactive employee engagement and customer support.
Prior to BBSI, Suz spent 15 years helping to build a successful ecommerce start-up business holding positions of chief financial officer and vice president of human resources. Suz guided the financial and human resources operations for hundreds of employees, handled investor due diligence requests, and acted as the financial liaison to the Board of Directors. Suz has held previous Sales, Human Resources and Finance Management positions within several industry sectors, including Manufacturing, Finance and Aviation.
She is on the Board of Directors for Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Treasurer, and the Oregon Employers Council Jackson County (OEC) Vice President. In the past served on board of Rogue Workforce Partnership (RWP) and Job Council Budget Committee.
Kathryn Reinhardt – Human Resource Consultant
Human Resources and Loss Control professional with over 25 years of experience working for small to large private and non-profit Fortune 500 organizations in a variety of industries (post-secondary education, insurance, healthcare, sales & marketing, drilling and agriculture). She has expertise in development of organizations and people, facilitation, process improvement, change management, performance management, engagement, compliance and investigations.
Kathryn is passionate about collaborating and advising entrepreneurial small business owners to develop their people, systems and processes to achieve success.
She currently serves as the President for the Rogue Valley Society for Human Resource Management, is on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Employer Council and the American Society of Safety Professionals Conference Planning Committee.
Heidi DeRoule – Human Resource Consultant
Heidi has over 20 years of business management experience, including operations management, risk management, labor relations, human resources, strategic planning, and small business ownership. She holds her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM-Certified Senior Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials, a B.S. in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University, and an M.B.A. from Washington State University, with a concentration in marketing.
David has been an area payroll manager/analyst for BBSI since February of 1994, which makes him the Southern Oregon area’s longest-tenured team member. David relocated to the Medford area from Ohio, three years after graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematical science, and a minor in theater. His initial background in payroll came through a stint at Central State University, overseeing the work-study program as part of his duties as a financial aid counselor. David was attracted to Southern Oregon for its richness in performing arts, but accepted the challenge of BBSI’s payroll team, succeeding a future BBSI corporate vice-president of operations. During his time at BBSI, David has added principles of HR Management to his knowledge base, allowing him to strategically interface with BBSI’s Human Resource team in areas such as turnover analysis and PTO/sick leave structure.
David’s mission as a payroll manager for BBSI is to ensure seamless and accurate payroll reporting, facilitate a smooth and user-friendly workflow, and to advocate for technology improvements as part of BBSI’s senior payroll implementation team.
Felicia Rossi – Payroll Manager
Felicia Rossi, our second Payroll/Finance Manager in the Southern Oregon Area, comes to BBSI with a significant and diverse background in the small business and self-employment arena. She opened FAR Out Numbered LLC Mobile Accounting, Bookkeeping and Taxes in January of 2007 and opened a second branch on Maui in 2014. She works with a large variety of industries, owners and employees with her small business, in addition to growing up working in, and eventually consulting for, her parents’ home grown construction company. Felicia is an Enrolled Agent licensed to prepare taxes with the Internal Revenue Service and most States, as well as a Licensed Tax Consultant for the State of Oregon. Her extensive background in payroll, bookkeeping, consulting and taxes, as well as being a small business owner herself, not only gives Felicia a deep compassion for BBSI owners, but it also provides her with the knowledge to help BBSI owners grow, adapt and plan for their futures and goals. BBSI offers a daily melting pot of opportunities that put to use every experience, customer service aptitude, achievement and piece of knowledge Felicia has accumulated in her career. Rob Hegeman – Recruiting Specialist
Rob loves the challenge and opportunity to make a positive impact for businesses and job seekers as a recruiting specialist for Barrett Business Services, Inc. (BBSI) Rob has over 18 years of talent acquisition/recruiting experience covering most industries. He has held several leadership positions throughout his career and is at his best when coaching, advising, and/or consulting.
Rob has worked in the private sector and government sector since 1991. Upon graduating from Fresno State, Rob was an Operations Manager for 7 years at Superior Athletic Club where he got his first taste of recruiting and onboarding. From there Rob worked for the The Job Council for 10 years as a Program Manager, Program Analyst, and led the Business Outreach team that worked with local businesses. The common thread throughout Rob’s professional career has been working with business owners and job seekers to help them achieve their goals.
Rob obtained his Masters in Management from Southern Oregon University. He combines a solid blend of academics, work experience, and life experience to provide the highest level of customer service which ensures a positive, value added customer experience.
